Well, it's for anyone that knows the right answer. The wife and I are kicking around a trip to Australia next winter (your summer). However, bike rentals on anything big enough to carry us 2up are through the roof expensive! I'm thinking of just buying something, riding for 3 weeks, then unloading it again. Can an american buy a bike in Australia and ride it?
