Well I rode Sunday...
« on: November 29, 2011, 02:05:26 PM »

As I get older and no longer manage insanely busy restaurants,a thought come to mind:
When I did that and I could request any area of the country and end up there, sooner or later-paid for and more.
So why the hell didn't I think to end up in a much warmer climate before the door closed. I mean, who ,in there right mind asks to go back to Columbus Oh!
Well I don't ski anymore and ......................winterizing my connie is really depressing.
Heck not yet- although an inch of snow may greet us in the morning-Sunday can't be the last ride of the season ;D ;D

Riding year round here in Jersey..cept' of course when snow or ice are on the ground. The only "winterizing" I do is checking the fuse for the heated gear.  :D

I live in St. Pete but Columbus is home. I'd much rather be there. Go Buckeyes!

What is that thing WINTERIZE you are talking about???????????
Another reason I LOVE CALIFORNIA. :rotflmao:
I rode about 150 miles today, only 80 degrees outside, going again tomorrow but it's going to be colder, only in the mid 70's

My winterizing consists of taking the tinted visor off the helmet and switching to clear  ;D

I am moving from Atlanta to The Villages in Florida in June because I think it is too cold here. My goal is to never live north of
 I-10.

I try to ride every month of th eyear here In Salt lake City, UT. I did it last year, although January was only 3 miles.

I did 100 miles on Thanksgiving.  57 degrees!   It was beautiful.  The wife and I had Turkey Sandwiches I had packed in the saddlebag.

Geez, I just don't think I could ride while it is snowing.
Me neither.  But I do wear a parka over gear now when it is 'cooler' outside.  For example, the temp was 22F as I left home at 630am this morning.

Until I get into heated gear, I will bundle up for now. (I do have Speed and Strength overpants and jacket to wear too)

There's a "build your own heated gear" thread over on the adventure rider forum that I'm going to attempt to try while I'm healing up from shoulder surgery.  Will post results.

I rode to work today for the first time in a while. It was 25 degrees this morning, but not bad with heated gear, grips and a balaclava.

I forgot how easy it is to destroy traffic on a bike.

Oh yeah, I kicked her out sideways in second climbing a hill around a curve. 8)

Between the cooler temps and dense air, the Connie was on fire! ;D

I LOVE MY GERBINGS!!  I paid for them (well I'm still paying for them) but I have NO regrets!  I'm in St. Louis, MO and I have never parked my bike because it was TOO cold.  I ride daily, and the coldest I have ridden was 9 degrees.  I have a 45 mile commute on the interstate.  I have followed that adventure thread, and quickly doubted my skills, as well as my patience.  Good luck if you go that route, there's nothing like the heat!

I do run lower tire pressure, I keep mine around 40 psi.  Generally a little lower.  I DON'T ride as agressively in the winter months as I do in the summer months.  There are too many unpredictables.  But I couldn't bring myself to park it!
