new owner from northern ny
« on: June 19, 2014, 03:05:42 PM »
Just traded my 09 Yamaha raider for a used 08 concours with 7k so far loving it.  Can't believe how smooth it is and fast !! My only complaint so far is a low speed squeek at the front wheel after I drive it 5 min or more. Its not brakes as it doesn't change when I apply them I'm guessing maybe wheel bearing starting to go ?

Put the bike on the center stand and weight back so the front is off the ground. Spin the wheel to see how much drag there is. It's possible that a pad is dragging/piston not returning. And welcome to the forum.

Wouldn't that stop if I were to apply brakes or at least change because this does not.

One way to find out. It would be a place to start to find the cause.

Didn't we have someone else here have a squeak coming from the front wheel?

Why yes we did, he says to himself...

Unfortunately we haven't heard what if anything fixed it.
