robin - got the pm but i'll answer here. These straight links won't work if you want to keep your centerstand. Personally I'd never give mine up. As far as the c-14 vs the zzr shock, the c-14 is the better of the two, but will require using a lowering link. the zzr will raise the rear of the bike about 1/2" so that's doable. The other option - the progressive 465 - is a really nice shock too, and won't require a lowering link or any other mods to install, just a little more $$$$. HTH, Steve

I don't have my rear suspension apart right now. If I did I would not have to risk ridicule with the following question:

Regarding lowering the bottom shock mount, after looking at the parts diagram, would it be possible just to flip over the unitrak arm?

That would alter the height of the bike a LOT the lowering link made by Norm was only just a little different than stock and it lowered the bike by a couple inches.

The link / bone pivot point is actually below the line of axis from the shock to the frame, flipping the link would raise the bike higher using stock bones.
IIRC Norms links only moved the hole about 1/4" to 5/8" lower off axis line (he made 3 versions)

The ratio he had was about a 5:1, meaning 1/4 lower made the bike 1-1/4 lower

Thanks for the correction MOB I see now that I was backwards in looking at the picture

What we need is a friend with a CNC machine so we can make the stuff we need for our old dinosaur bikes.

No, no, no, that was just a figure of speech. Our dinosaurs bikes are still on the road and going when some much younger and more expensive ones are in the boneyard.
