The original shield was the cal-sci then someone added the v-stream.

I have not heard from ZedHed and still have the windshields,  I am going to send them to Atilla457 as soon as he gets me shipping info.  Jim

Hi Jim

Pm'ed you with my contact info.  Thanks.

The list as is

0. Jaclaw (where windshields are)
1. JedHed (skipping, but will continue to ping).
2. Atilla457
3. Pynikal
4. Caffeinated

The way we keep this list is good.  How can we add a comment at the beginning of this thread so that if somebody wants to be added to the list or removed from the list, they modify the most recent list and post the updated list?  I'm worried missing people.

On a side note, I've been having quality time with my c14 this week and I absolutely love it.

Thanks,

Just a quick update.  Received the two windshields in a VERY nicely packed package.  I'll be testing it next few days and over the weekend and give you my feedback.

The guy that provided all of the wind shields is DonB on this new forum or Donald on the old one.

Thanks to DonB for the windshields.

I tested V-stream and now testing the other one.  (got slammed by the work this week).

I like the cal-sci much much better than vstream.  v-stream was better than the stock;  I just couldnt get used to its weird shape.

Cal-sci seems more sports-bike style.  With cal-sci I could ride with no earplugs and riding was fun.  I'm gonna put the stock '09 back in there and compare.  I think I have a winner with cal-sci.

I'm 6'1"; average body size.

I pinged jedhed but got an error message he/she doesn't exist.  So I'm going to delete from the list.  I sent a PM to Pynikal and will ship after mid next week.

thanks again.

Updating the list to pull myself out.  I got impatient and purchased a V-Stream.  So far I'm satisfied with the results.

1. JedHed (skipping, but will continue to ping).
2. Pynikal
3. Caffeinated
4. CitrusC14
5. seajay

This looks like a great thread.  It takes good people to make something like this work and I appreciate those who have started and maintained this.  I'd like to add myself to the list:

Atilla457 (where it is currently)
1. JedHed (skipping, but will continue to ping).
2. Pynikal
3. Caffeinated
4. CitrusC14
5. seajay
6. Gearhead82

Shipped the windshields today to Caffeinated.

I removed JedHed (no response) and Pynikal (no bike) from the list.

Atilla457 (left the shore)
1. Caffeinated
2. CitrusC14
3. seajay
4. Gearhead82

My personal choice was CalSci, which is 3inches taller than the stock 2009 windshield.  It was very quiet (didn't need earplugs in the city at all.)  I'm 6'1".  The V-stream looked weird and was moving back and forth at speed.

Enjoy.

PS: I'm thinking what other accessories can we test this way?  I'm willing to pitch in money.  I would like to try the seats.

Received the shields yesterday....thanks Atilla457.

I try out the V-Stream next week on my commute. Don't need to test the Cat-Sci medium, since I already have a Cal-sic large screen and like it, but a little more protection may be in order for the winter.  Need to find an Utra Tour somewhere.

I hope to get them shipped back out late next week, or early the following week.

So how does this work... Just put your name on the list? The automated gate at work decided to have a mind of its own the other day and came down on my screen. I would love to try the 2 listed. Thanks to anyone that responds... it is much appreciated.

I was reading through the reviews on this thread, which cal sci is the one being passed around?  Im fixing to pull the trigger and order something.

However I am 6'2" and need something that works for co-pilot as well.  Can anyone comment on Cal Sci with respect to a passenger?

Yeah, that's how it works.  Just copy the most recent list of names from a couple posts up and add your name to the bottom.  Then you should be contacted by whoever has the shields when your name is the next on the list.  They will ship them to you.  You will pay to ship to the next person after you've tested them.  At least that's what I've gathered as to how this works.

Shipping the shields to CitrusC14 today.

Here's the list now:
  • CitrusC14 (on it's way)
  • seajay
  • Gearhead82
  • The

The shields in the box are Cal-Sci medium, and the V-Stream. I already had a Cal-Sci large and like it a lot for stability and protection. Downside is that it seems to scratch easily. Can't talk much about passenger experience. My SO said it was better than the stock shield but not much. We are both tall, so she sits higher than most would anyway.  I'm going to see about getting the Cal-Sci XL, or the Cee Baileys Ultra Tour.

So, my experience with the V-Stream ran the gamut since I got to test it during the torrential rains a couple of weeks ago.
It's a great shield for warm weather, and is actually pretty quiet with little buffeting. I only had to put the shield up a couple of inches to get the direct blast of air to go over my helmet, leaving me looking way over the shield, which was nice. It's very shaky in any kind of dirty air.  Just cruising behind a car at 75 felt like I was behind a semi.  Rain protection is not very good, but I was cool.  I may try to pick one up for summer riding.

I'm 6'2" as well. the Medium would not be high enough even for solo riding. Try the XL or the Cee Baileys Ultra or Euro. Those are my next shields to try.
