What's she worth?
« on: May 03, 2013, 08:58:21 PM »
1 owner, 1987 with Corbin seat, Targa Tinted Shield, Gen-Mar risers, OEM good cond seat, spare CDI box, assorted parts.  Never wrecked, never hydrolocked, always stored in garage.  Newer Yuasu battery, Stic coils, New carb needle valves, O-rings, radiator hoses, airbox boots.  Plastic good.  Silver in color.  75,000 miles.  Will need tires in the next 100 miles.    I'm thinking $1500?

I've noticed prices creeping up on the c-10's. I think if the bike you were looking at were bone stock 1500.00 would be right. This owner has been upgrading the bike, so if it looks good, i really think closer to 1800.00  - 2k wouldn't be out of question. Steve

Sorry, I wasn't clear.  It's my bike and I'm thinking of selling it.   I bought it new.   Located in Lincoln NE so it's not like I'm in the hotbed of Sport-Touring roads.

At that age & mileage, whatever someone will pay for it.

with so many far newer C10's with less mileage available in t he 2500 range, I'd think anything over a grand would be a good price to get.

The market in Northern VA is pretty high.  Start at $2k or 2.2, then it gives you wiggle room to still accept 1500 if you are happy with that.  Don't be surprised to get 2k for it though if it looks clean and has options.

I kind of like the used car market around here.  A used vehicle no matter what it is and what year, is worth at 2500 if it passes inspection and emission.  People aren't shy about asking 5k for a 15 yo mini van with 200k on the odometer.

"Cash-for-clunkers" caused all of this.  It removed most of the "old" cars.  Maybe if they did bikes next.....

Sounds like a good bike with lots of miles left in it. I would start closer to 2K. You can probably sell it for 1700.00 to 1800.00.

I agree with these folks. I'm in IN, and I just sold my 86 with 67k on it for 1500 bucks. I had it listed at 1800, but the guy was interested and I stripped all of my accessories on it, so start at 2200, and work your way down with whomever shows up with cash.

I'm also going to agree with most on here to start closer to 2K. You can always go down but at $1500 you've got no wiggle room for an offer. Let's face it no matter what you list it for a buyer is going to make you an offer that is less. That's just the nature of selling things.  8)
