I fed her 93 octane Shell V-Power. She's purring like a kitten.

I've been having a problem finding good premium gas, I'm thinking with the price of gas most people are steering away from the pricey high test and it's sitting in the storage tanks and going bad.

I can't wait to see a Kawi Green Connie!  Is this the first?  I don't think I've seen any on http://www.pbase.com/elvin315/the_kawasaki_concours.

Here ya go, Barney.

BTW, my name's Matthew Bennett, y'all.  Norcal Barney is a self-depricating name.  A Barney is someone who acts like a surfer, but can't surf.  Max Schaaf of 4Q Customs made up the name, and I kinda stole it without permission.

Gave her a quick rinse to get the worst of the pollen off it.  She began to look like the Kawi Green and she's got her natural 2006 dark blue.

Washed her.  Dried her, then put a new, VStream, windshield on her.  Then I took a nice long ride up and down the coast with some friends today.  I added about 250 miles to her today.  What I great day!!!

Bought a pair of Stebel TM80 Hi/Lo horns and a wiring harness to replace the wimpy "meep-meep" sounding stocker.

Replaced a broken driving light. Dropped off my zx-9 axle so my machinist friend can make the center spacer for the meanie front wheel.  Ordered the stem seals.  Cleaned the zx9 front fender.

Nothing, except still fixing the weird crap the PO did. So far? Removed the ONE peg lowerer that was installed, fixed the "fairing rattle" that was actually just two missing screws, and tomorrow I'm taking a stupid throttle lock off. I hate throttle locks.

Hopped on The Beast to ride to work, but the bars wouldn't turn.  Noticed the front brake level was bent, then I noticed the gas and oil on the ground, and the pavement on the peg.  Someone dropped my bike, and the steering lock is half-locked.  Bars only turn half way, so I can only turn left...

But it was Bike to Work day, and it's a beautiful day in SF, so I rode my bicycle.

Wondering about swapping top-triple trees vs. just swapping the ignition.  I've got a nice parts bike...   Cheers!

To those asking about my soon to be green Connie, I'm doing the work myself (i'm pretty well qualified to do it).  My dad passed away on April 29th from ALS.  This was his bike and I think it would be fitting to restore it back to it's glory days or better.  He bought it in '91.  I'll start a new thread soon if you care to follow it.  Yes, I've taken a few pictures along the way so far.

Said good morning to my 06 and gave it a  :-* on the tank this morning before I walked to work (only 20 yards away)  ;)

Will do the same tonight before I go to bed. Wife says the bike gets more affection than her but then again, the bike only needs infrequent servicing  :-X

I really must get out more and/or get a life outside the Connie kingdom  ;D
