Personally I wouldn't remove the Name off the bike
I do it on ALL my bikes and cars. It has nothing to do with not being proud, ashamed, or anything like that. I simply don't like them, and it's hard to clean around badges. Besides, everybody knows it's a Kawasaki... and it says so on the back  ;D. I removed all badges (front and rear) as well on the 2015 Nissan GTR, and that car some people ask what it is. But it says 'Nissan' on the wheel caps, and 'GTR' on the side fender badges. That's enough for me ;D. By the way, when there's an indentation or holes, I obviously don't remove them.

And yes, will try the TPS calibration and report back. Really hope it works. Thank you for the tip Ted.

You removed the Kawasaki emblems?  achhhhhhhhhhhh   Sacrilege!  You must be an "ex" BMW Guy........

Yeah, I would *NEVER* remove the bike's brand or model badges.  On the C14, they are not ugly or overdone. Why would I want someone to not know what I am riding?  Plus it will hurt the resale value- I would seriously avoid a used bike where someone did that, because it often (but not always, obviously) goes along with the mentality of "ricing" and that can do serious damage to the vehicle.

Of course I removed all those stupid warning stickers, though.

Yeah, I remember that 'the Earth is flat' thread. It really was pretty funny, in that same way that leaving a fob near the bike drains the battery faster.  ;)

The first one of those I remember was when I was a kid and the (unfortunately) all too common belief was that you could not / should not put an auto (or motorcycle, I suppose) battery on concrete or the concrete would 'suck the charge out of it'. What amazed me at that time was the number of people who would put down a piece of wood, cardboard, whatever to prevent that 'concrete sucking action'.

I should really ban those that want to bring that thread back to life... ::)

What's 'ricing'?

Congrats on the new bike, elp!

I de-badge my motorcycles. I had one of the Harleys I purchased new painted monochromatic before  I took delivery of it. For me it's just personal preference and I also hate cleaning around the emblems. I will almost certainly paint this motorcycle in the next year or 2 and it won't be the same color, just to make it a bit more "mine".

Brian, 47 years ago, while in college, I worked for Montgomery Wards, mounting tires and installing batteries.  Battery case construction was very different back then, and we were told by our Battery Manufacturer, to never place a charged battery on the floor without some form of insulation.  Never knew if it was the truth, but did what I was told to avoid any problems.  I know today's batteries have no ill effects from being placed on the floor, but 50 years ago, there may have been valid reasoning for that.  Man, college was a LOOOOOONG time ago.

Got the Connie out for the first ride of the year today.  Battery was toast. Had to take the ZX14R. Poor me. ::)

Good news. After reinstalling the battery (this time with the connections tight), and doing the TPS relearn with kill switch in both on and off positions, bike fired up instantly, and at high-idle (1,300 rpm or so). AWESOME!  Also adjusted the lights, which were dangerously low; MUCH better now.  I dislike the lack of a handle for the center stand. The passenger grab handle is just too far backward to help; at least in my case. I have to grab it from under the passenger peg, but the metal is too sharp underneath, so will smooth it out. Set tire pressures at 40/42, and seems to be perfect. Disabled the flashing 'alarm', set the clock, set brake linking to 'solo', and it's ready to go anywhere. What a great machine. Glad I decided to get the Connie instead of the FJR or K1600GT.

I never had an issue with putting mine on the center stand, but I recall at least one company that makes an add on handle for that. Here's a link:

What do you mean by "Disabled the flashing 'alarm'"? B.D.F has a product to disable the low fuel warning panic screen. But I still get a low TPMS battery panic screen. What "alarm" are you referring to?

Guys I have to admit, I removed those huge KAWASAKI  letters from my bike, so I guess that I am in the group of de-bagding. I prefer that clean look.

I didn't know what he meant either.  See: http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=18845.msg231682#msg231682
