Title: Almost made it a year. almost
Post by: petepro on June 13, 2014, 05:57:10 AM
Well it finally happened.   While getting ready this morning I took it off the centerstand and slid it forward so the luggage rack wouldn't hit a tree.   In doing that the side stand flipped up and I slowly lowered the bike into a nice resting position on it's side, on my foot.   Picked it up, checked it for broken bits,  checked my foot for broken bits and continued on my way.

There should be a sensor that triggers an alarm.   If the sidestand is up and there is no butt in the seat it should ding like a car door ajar.   Maybe even a recorded voice.... " Don't be Stupid    (ding!) "

Now I'm just wondering what will go away first, the pain in my foot or the damage to my pride.

Gonna tie a bell to the sidestand, like a cat collar.

Might sound like Santa coming down the road ?

I pretty much only use the centerstand when I change tires

Yeah, I wish.  Had to put it up on it to park between cars.   NYC street parking is tough
sometimes.   Sometimes I centerstand it hoping to not be knocked over and othertimes
it is the only way to make it fit.

Once I had people sandwich me in so tight I had to take off the saddlebags to get out
of the spot.

 :-\

I grew up on LI and drove a cab in the city one summer and think I would use public transportation.  Traffic drives me crazy
