Great story.  It should be inspiration for everyone who rides.  Especially the comments about helping others out there in the boonies.  That's how it was where I grew up.

BTW, is it an optical illusion, or is the center of the rear tire worn out in that first photo?  He was not in a great place to be needing a new tire...
