Hello from Goose Creek, SC
« on: January 29, 2014, 05:53:18 PM »
Hello, everyone!  My name is Pete and I've been lurking here for quite some time now.  I've been in the Navy for a little more than 15 years and I'm currently stationed in Goose Creek, SC which doesn't exactly lend itself to the most interesting riding in the world.

I bought my 2008 Connie last Summer and have been enjoying it ever since.  Prior to this bike, I owned a Sportster, VTX 1300, VTX 1800, R1, M109r, and a Valkyrie.  This bike is by far the most comfortable and convenient of all the bikes I've owned.  It's pretty darn fast, too!  I haven't had to do anything to it since the previous owner added a bunch including risers, windshield, throttle lock, trunk, headlight modulator, and seat.  The only things I could think to change would be to add some HID lights and maybe getter a lower profile seat.  The one I have is a Baldwin and, even though I've got a 34" inseam, I have to scoot all the way up to the tank to be able to put both feet down on the ground when stopped.

Anyway, I figured I've been hiding in the shadows long enough and I should probably go ahead and introduce myself.  I look forward to learning a lot from you all.  Happy riding!

Welcome Pete. I am sure that if you try hard you can find more to add to the bike.

Welcome to the group Pete.
Didn't notice if you had joined COG? If not, I highly recommend it! Great people!
National is coming. DO Consider it...

PS: You'll find that there are quite a few of us Navy types here.
If you think riding in Goose Creek sux., you should have been stationed where I was. (Beeville Texas)
Before you say it,, I know. (Where in the hell is Beeville Texas)?

Have a Nuc here at work sed he might know you (named Mike Gilsdorf)??

Ride safe, Ted

Ted, you're right.  I have never heard of Beeville, TX!  I used to be a Nuc (I was enlisted for 12 years prior to commissioning a few years ago), but I don't recognize the name Mike Gilsdorf.

How do I become a member of COG?
