I'm just trying to figure out why they went to the expense to chrome the engine and saddlebag guards when there's nothing else on the bike that's chrome?  Black powdercoat would blend in a lot better and is much easier to touch-up/repair if they get scuffed up in a spill.

I was at my dealer when they were setting up the ones for Newport News.  The parts guys told me that they have had to order a bunch of replacement keys cause the officers keep breaking them off in the side case locks.  I halfway want to get pulled by one of them so I can get a picture!

Have several pics from The Mich. Police Vehicle testing. As soon as I figure a way to post them online I will post a link. Just a note, to attain the proper min. turning radius the engineers took a dremel to the stops. Recommended that I do it to mine, he said it made it much easier to move around. These are the men developing the bike.

Here are the results of testing.

What were they trying to get the turning radius down to.  I have not heard about the stops adjustment.

Not really.  King George actually, but I come down that way quite a bit via 17.   Lately it's only been via cage.  I came through there last Wednesday and saw two C-14s.  One on 664 heading toward the Monitor/Merrimac and one heading towards Ft. Eustis (military rider).  Double dipper day.

I should hope not...  Actually, they are fairly good at riding slow.

I am very glad to see this.  My uncle was KCMO motorcycle cop for 25 years and retired a few years ago.  He had the Kawasaki Police 1000, and loved that bike.   They were transitioning to HD at the time, and I know he was sad to see the old girl go.

But as a side note, He is itching to ride my connie.  It must be the sound and feel of a 1000cc Kaw that is just right with the universe ;D

Here is a link to photos from Mich. State Trials.
Not sure what the turning radius was filed down to. The sidestand is a CHP requirement. Larger footprint. Yes that is a Harley sales guy on the Concours.

We started with 20' and discovered right away that 18' for circles was fine.  Man, that bike leans and we could still stay way inside the cones.  I know we had that problem a couple of years ago with the Harley's, and they came out with a "field fix" but haven't heard anyone complaining about the Connies.

If you have a chance, you should get a copy of the CHP's test.  They really wring out bikes.  They run flat tires, high speed, a lot of exciting stuff.
