WOW I can not believe this is still going.
I had a Calsci shield that was getting pitted on my 2008 Connie and wanted to replace it. I bought a Vstream and did not care for it. I thought about how often I bought a shield and did not care for it. so I decided to send the old Calsci out along with the new Vstream for everyone and anyone to sorta try before they bought one. all they had to do was pay the shipping. then I replaced the Calsci with another one for my bike.
that was way back in 2009      W O W! ! ! !
I can not believe that it is still going. I have had 7 bikes since that time and just got my 46th
hope I make it to 50 of them
I bet these shield have traveled more miles in the back of a brown truck than they have on a bike

I have the 3 large windshields now, but am not sure where the mediums have gotten off to. The V-Stream is really what I wanted to try and I was not aware there were two separate sets making the rounds.

Who has the mediums shields?

Guys,

Whether we are talking about seats or windshields, it would help greatly
if you provide your height and inseam

Thanks

I have the 3 mediums; I apologize for not responding sooner but I haven't been getting the subscription notices for this thread and have failed to check in here for awhile.

It looks like either jmkreege or tfly are next?

This sounds like a great idea!  I would love to try something larger then the stock 2010. I am new to the bike by a month but have about 1000 miles so far.  At the top position I get wind noise/buffeting....but if I just lower my head a little it gets totally quiet.  So I am thinking just a couple inches taller.  I am 5'11" with an inseam around 32 or 31.  I can pretty much flat foot at a stop.....mostly! LOL

How long do you keep them before sending to next party?  I did not know of this forum originally and had joined COG a couple months ago as I was serious about finding a concours.  Thanks.

Hate to ask (but do not want to read the entire thread), but,  does the person in line before me email me for my address and then I would do the same when I am ready to ship out????  Really think this is a great idea!  Maybe I should read the thread to see who started it and thank them!

Just wanted to say "THANKS"  Don B  for starting this "windshield program" ! Great idea for those of us not willing/wanting to spend the $ to try out each and every windshied on our own.

IF possible may I be added to the small screens as well?  Read my observations below and please chime in...thanks.

I have wind noise I am dealing with. Been reading quite a bit about earplugs and noise canceling headphones (nothing that fits in helmet so far).  Here is what I did today.....
   1. bought and tried 2 different styles of earplugs from 3M.  Regular foam and a pleated kind on a string.  Hard to get the foam just right and the others fit and blocked out most of the outside noise.....but still had the low rumble and can not hear my surroundings.

  2. While riding on a back road I decided to put the screen all the way down and actually stand up a little on the pegs and noticed the low range noise totally gone!  Still had the lighter regular wind but no buffeting.

   3. Did same experiment without any earplugs and same thing.....stood up a little and no low buffeting just regular wind!

   4. For got to mention with the shield all the way up it pulls me forward.

   5. with screen all the way up and just ducking a little it actually is totally quiet, that is why I was thinking of a slightly larger shield or at least one that relieves the back pressure.

The wife was asking me if I had this on the Vmax and I did not remember the low tones at all....now I know it is the shield!

  Now the questions:

Anyone actually use a smaller shield and get rid of the buffeting?

How about using a small set of washers under the shield to lift it up a little more to get more wind inside the shield to lower pressure?

Now that I know it is a matter of testing aftermarket shields I guess........thoughts on trying the small shields also?
