Muffler end caps painted black
« on: August 20, 2012, 08:13:03 AM »
Hello all.

I painted the mufflers silver end caps with Dupli-Color semi-gloss black engine enamel.  The muffler now blends in better with the bike.

The allen screws were held with red loctite, but I did not need any heat to remove them.  I used green loctite to resecure the screws (because that's what I had onhand).

Please ignore the reflection of the amateur photographer....

Painted mine the first day I picked it up.  Like the lokms much better, I used a heat resistant grill paint in flat black.

Looks great, strangely I actually like the Bazooka.  I painted my original tips with hi temp grill paint.  With the bags on I feel it looks proportional and now that I have the rear MC bars on the bags will stay on for obvious reasons.  I also like the quiet sound that the stock muffler has, had plenty of experience with the noise on Harley systems.  I did however change my 2009 Bazooka to a 2010 and had both covers powder coated.

Not strange at all :)  I like it just fine.  But I will leave mine with silver tips because it matches the siver bike and panniers better.

I wonder if anyone has painted the body of the muffler to match the end caps?

Unfortunately Fortunately I've removed my mortar and replaced it with an Area P carbon fiber can.   I tried to get it in chain mail but that wasn't available.

I painted mine as well.....then my pressure washer ate the paint off of the front one.....and then the back one...... I will have them powder coated this winter. I feel it makes the bazooka tolerable. I love how quiet the bike is.
No, really, she is the best and I can prove it...
