I was thinking the other day that the X-37 program would be cool to work on.  It looks like the AF is moving the flights to Florida.

My favorite airplane is any one I can take a Young Eagle up in.

The X-37 will work but they have to be on the smallish side..

The Connie is a beautiful aircraft even in military livery and pregnant with radar domes.

Went to New Orleans Saturday. Air show: Only flying B29, only flying Hell diver, B17, B24, P51, T6, C45 and a Stearman. With the right money, you could get a ride on most, if not all of them. Lot of WW2 vets including Doolittle's co pilot. Talked to a B17 waist gunner who did 26 missions. Just hearing those engines run was worth the admission. Great Day.

F-16s at Red Flag

Love the tail art in that pic!

The Israeli F-16I's aka Sufas, have a number of modifications, the most noticeable being the conformal dorsal fuel tanks, which incidentally are removeable.

Attached is another pic showing a Sufa during a refueling operation, that gives a nice view of the conformal tanks.

Yesterday I was in Renton, Washington at the Boeing 737 factory, and saw this new 737 taxiing for it's maiden flight.

737's are common, but I thought the livery on this one was pretty unique.

I had to Google Nok Air to figure out where they were. I guess "Nok' is Thai for bird. I think the paint scheme is actually pretty cool.

I've seen a lot of maiden flights at of the various Boeing jets made at Renton through the years. Going way back, 707's (by the time I saw them, it was the AWACS variant), 727's (at that point, only the FedEx cargo variant), 757's, and of course the 737's. They always taxi down the runway at a moderate speed, then turn around and come back at a slightly faster speed, where they once again turn around, then they take off. On the climb-out, they raise the gear, then lower and raise it again before turning east.

Kind of cool.
