Is this real ?  If so serious respect for the skill and cool of pilot

Totally fake. If you look closely there are slightly different versions of the aircraft because film of a real airplane was spliced together with film of a model airplane. This has been around the net for 5 or 6 years.

Judging by the way I was sandwiched between 2 of what could have been contestants on "The Biggest Loser" the last time I flew, American Airlines should invest in a few of these.

That's what I saw...
Per the linked article:
Quote
Fuel consumption rate makes 15.9 tons per hour for a cruise flight.
When fully loaded, the aircraft can keep on flying without refueling for about 2 hours.]Fuel consumption rate makes 15.9 tons per hour for a cruise flight.

31.8 tons of fuel for a 2 hour flight... yeah that sounds like one EXPENSIVE fuel bill

That thing is definitely one massive beast!  Did you note that the thing is carrying spare tires in the cargo bay (just inside from the nose), and that the rearmost tires in one of the pics are polished off pretty good -I'd surmise that this would mainly be from turning while taxi-ing the aircraft, the rearmost tires will do the most skidding in a turn.  Anyone with 2-3 axle trailer experience should be familiar with this.

16 tons of fuel per hour is about 5,300 gal/hour. Sounds about right for 6 of the worlds largest jet engines. But hard to believe it only carries 11,000 gallons. A 747 carries almost 50,000 gallons. According to Wikipedia the an225 has a fuel capacity of 300,000 kg. Thats 660,000 lbs or 110,000 gallons. About 10 hours of fuel.

I just watched the last 30 minutes or so of "Fast and Furious Six" and I believe it had an AN-225 in the grand climax.

A B-24 every 55 minutes! The logistics alone to be able to do that boggles the mind. No computers, no spread sheets, no cell phones, no email, all done with paper and pencils and a phone system that required operators to make physical connections between hubs.
