Smackdown at the Shack
« on: October 18, 2011, 08:00:37 AM »
Ok, time for the "Smackdown at the Shack" RTE.  It on the calendar for November 12, 2011 at 11:30AM.  Georgia is holding the plaque for the most riders from last year.  Let's see if the Florida gang can get it together and take back the title.  Lets fill this place up and have a great time.  Awesome BBQ!  Remember no credit cards.  Cash or check only.  See y'all there!

Here is a link to the Shack by the Track.

Woops, my bad.  Didn't mean to post it twice.  When I went to the events and wrote up the RTE, I didn't know it would automatically post down in the forum. :o

Yes sir, I'm still in school. But this new class is on Tuesday nights.

Its in a photo studio rather than on campus, the name of it is "Studio Lighting", and we're learning to shoot models.  I've attended just a few college classes in my lifetime, I suspect this one will be the epic bomb-diggity (and looking forward to the "advanced studio lighting" class right behind it!

Alrighty then, any folks wanting to meet up and ride up north to that oasis of culinary delight(The Shack) in that otherwise hostile territory(GA), I've put a route together. Google map:

http://tinyurl.com/6c6wr57

Will depart my house(6six9 Woodview Dr, Tavares) at 7:15, and arrive at the McDonalds in Interlachen, junction of FL 20 and Co Rd 315, at about 8:45

Depart Mickey D's about 9:00, arriving at the gas station(it was a Shell station last year) at the junction of US 301 and Maxville-Maccleeny Rd (co rd 228) in Maxville at approx 10:15

Depart the Shell station at about 10:30 with arrival at The Shack by the Track at about 11:15

After last year's embarrassing debacle(Georgia won :yikes:), it would be nice to bring the trophy back to Florida where it belongs. So turn out for a nice ride, and really good eats. Meet up at one of the above places or get there on your own. When the weather is not frightful(think 2010 sub-freezing temps), we usually turn out 50-60 folks for this event. Let's try for 70, with about 40+ from FLA. ;)

Hey, this is a 160 mile one way ride for me.  I may have to get a motel Sat night to break up the ride.   :P

Hey, swing on down to my place for the night, it's only 155 miles.

Steve, I am very sad to say that I will not be able to attend this year as I will up in CT next week  enjoying all the snow or whatever is left of it.
