I haven't tried this but does anybody else think this might make a good heat controller?

I just ordered one to check it out - less than $4 delivered.

50 bucks for a single controller is pretty hard to beat.  If your old one is toast, mail it to Gerbings and they will likely replace it.  I've had nothing but the best luck with them.  I'd like to know how that ebay troller works for you.  I'd be curious because of the 8amp 96watt rating.  IIRC pants, jacket, and gloves is somewhere around 150 watts.  Not trying to be a buzzkill, but careful!

I understand about the load.  I only run a jacket liner with a home-made digital controller ($25) and heated grips on their own relay.  The gerbings liner is about 77 Watts I think.  You should run one of these for each item.  Gerbings does have great service.

Works just fine, what do you think is in that Gerbing case? Plenty of guys use those. I order a few of the more expensive models, all of $9, but the circuit boards were smaller and the knob was on a 12" cable so I could come up with better mounting options.
