Bought a 2014 new and put 90 miles on it at the lake today. Good machine a bit heavy in the corners but as long as you are smooth she will turn. Love the power and the 6th gear 3700 rpm at 80 mph… nice. Looking forward to the next few years.

Great lookin' ride and welcome. You will find it turns a lot better when you get rid of the 021 Crapstones and put on a real pair of tires- Michelin PR4GT's with a 55 rear tire aspect ratio.

Congrats on the new bike, love the smell of new.
That sure is a good looking bike.
Connies right about the tires. I ran 44/42 on the OEM tires and that helped a little until I replaced them.
Soon enough you won't even notice the weight you speak of.

The bike is very planted in the curves. Tight curves with a lot of transitions will work you out big time. Enjoy your new ride.

Interesting point about the tires I have never had issues with Bridgestones but I will consider other choices thank you. Put another 130 on the bike and got the tires nice and scrubbed. I will get used to the bike for sure but you must never disrespect its weight. Having owned quite a number of BMW’s planted in a corner has to be qualified by, if you are on smooth road it will sit in a line very nicely. Nothing against the bike it is a fantastic machine but the BMW suspensions are a marvel of confidence inspiring engineering.

No hate mail please :) I like the bike and I will enjoy her power and the 5 year unlimited mileage warrantee… oh and that 6th gear 3700rpm at 80mph! Yesssss!!!! 8)
I got her for her power and long legs not the tight stuff. Any thing a bit open she kills it! I am very happy. ;D

Every bike has it's strengths and weaknesses. I'm sure you will come to appreciate the bulletproof drivetrain of the C-14 as I have over the years and 50,000 miles with just consumables like fluids, brake pads and tires. Best bike I have owned so far, and I get a *hit eatin' grin every time I ride.

ruffrider, I noticed from the pics that your 021's have no chicken strips- whoa, man- these tires gave me sphincter spasms more than once before I dumpsterized 'em and bought some Michelin PR's. The front will suddenly let loose and 'push' if stressed once it has a few thousand miles.

Sadly my plan for the bike is mostly highway droning :( but with the entertaining power it will make every pass a joy. :D I will break it in out in the twisties so I am changing rpm constantly. After the 600-mile service it will soon have flat tires in the middle. I will certainly keep the wear in mind on thos 021s as I exit the super slab.
I have thought about going to the dark side on this bike. :o I need high miles and have heard that that is the way to go. Thanks again for the warning on the 021s. I am searching after market parts like mad. I need to make this into a super sonic mile muncher. ;) I Love how smooth this bike is I know I am going to have miles of smiles!

I found my peg feeler. Might have transitioned a bit too quick from the right-hander to that hard left :o.
I hope my average 29 mpg goes up once I get done with all these break in miles. :P

Congrats on your new bike. Are you running it in ECO mode for more fuel efficiency? Makes a difference. Did you buy an extended warranty? Factory warranty is 3 years.

No on the econo mode I will run that once it is all broken in.8) Yes went for extended I will do between 25-30K miles a year so I figure it might be worth having. :-\

I saw a darkside Concours at the Moonshine lunch run in 2013. It was a wide looking tire.
