New Concours Owner
« on: February 27, 2016, 02:55:34 PM »
I picked up my new (16 Gray) Concours yesterday. Traded an FZ07 for it which I really did not like. I also have a 15 BMW R1200R LC. I had a C10 some years ago and really liked that one. Thinking the new one will be way better. Looking forward to reading all the good information on the forum.

Welcome to the forum! The R1200 R was the BMW I was most impressed with. What does the LC stand for?

The LC is for liquid cooled (valve area only), last year was the first year it was offered on the R1200R and they dropped the telelever in favor of standard forks. The engine is better and the forks make it handle a bit nicer IMHO, it impressed me enough that I traded a 2013 R1200R for it. After a few days on the C14 though.....this sure is a great bike for the money and I even got a discounted price on a 2016 and he did not beat me up real bad on the FZ07 trade. I could even have had a cheaper 15 leftover but just did not want Black.

Nice, I've heard good things about the liquid cooled boxer. But one of the things I liked about the R1200R was no nose dive when braking. I kind of liked that telelever because of that.

Traded bikes with a friend who has a R1200RT over the weekend. It was ok, I wouldn't trade a C14 for one. He actually preferred the C14 drive train to the Beemer.

Best of luck with the new ride. Did you get the one with the dreaded KiPass system on- board?

Did you miss the part where it says to post up here you're required to post a pic of your new bike too. :)
We haven't seen what one looks like in at least 3.5 seconds.

Paul, I like your choice of motorcycles.  The BMW was my second choice, after the Connie.  The gray is the best (and fastest) color!
