I don't have a C14 any more but is close enough for me that I was thinking to stopping by.

  • Just call me Cap'n Crunch, Ted.
I'm going.  It will be my first US Rally.  I'm flying in from Germany and picking up a bike in Ft Worth.  Then riding down, Sunday for the Rally.
09 Concours aka Cruncher: Corbin Canyon Dual Sport (Laam for longer trips, Corbin Modular with Smuggler for mid-length trips), Top Blocks, Penske 8983, Traxxion AK20s, Helibars Horizon ST bars w/Galfer SS +6 lines, MRA Vario Touring Windscreen/Madstad brackets (Copper Dawg on the way),  Area P full system, throttle tamer, Steve's Flash.

:hail: Thanks Rhino! I was hoping someone would bring this up! (shhhhh :-X your check is in the mail ....shhhhh :-X )

Not meaning to discourage anyone from attending, but I'll be there.
I'm a grunt on the rally committee so unfortunately I'll be caged as I have to bring stuff, but I'm hoping to bring my DR with street tires mounted along with me
in the usual one wheel up fashion. Just in case there aren't enough rally fires to put out, then maybe I'll get to ride some.

Here's the link (again): http://concours.org/national/2018-national-rally

Schedule: http://concours.org/national/2018-national-rally/schedule

DR as in Suzuki DR 650? Cool! I should ride my DR the 76 miles out there. Problem is I could only go on Sunday and looks like people just checking in on Sunday evening.

I probably won't go as I no longer even have a Concours and as it turns out the weekend after I plan to go to an Abarth rally in Kerrville.

Yep, that's it. You didn't click on the link did you.

Well that sucks rocks.
You're just chicken. afraid that after seeing all those C14s in one spot that you'll want to get another one.
Bye the bye..the back rest you sold me almost 5 years ago still works great, probably have over 60,000miles on it now plus what ever you put on it.

So how's that gonna work if you don't mind my nosiness...borrow from a friend?...rent? (I'm not aware of any rental places in Fort Worth, but I'm willing to learn.) Buy? Steal?  What kind of bike is it, so we can look for you?

I'd offer to ride down with you, but I'm leaving Saturday and I'll be in a cage so....enjoy the ride and hit up Craig (kv5e) on the other forum for a nice route down from the metro-mess.

Here are a couple of routes that bypass Fredericksburg which can be a little touristy traffic-wise on weekends.

Too late. I already want to get another one. I love my Multistrada but I also miss my C14 and every time I see one I think I should have kept it.

I'd enjoy the company...maybe next time.  I'm moving back to Texas (San Antonio) in Sep.  As far as the bike....I bought a V1K.  My brother closed the deal for me a few weeks ago.  A few more farkels to add...and it will be ready.

We were there and had a blast.
If you didn't go because you were afraid of the heat,  ya messed up.
Temps were down from the previous weeks and we had a nice breeze blowing the entire week.
Each morning we started our rides about 8:00 {78*-80*}, stayed below 90* {until after 12:00},  and were back by 3:00 90*-92*.  {and,,, did I mention the cooling breezes?  :finger_fing11: )
Good people, good roads, lots of fun!!

My hat's off to Fred and his team!!

Ride safe, Ted

PS: We were involved in the group rides and they went very well.
The new folks were able to enjoy some great roads {Twisted Sister's} and was a good way to meet other COGgers.
