Inexpensive Fork Emulators for a C-10

(1/2) > >>

connie_rider:
In another discussion about Race Tech Emulators someone posted these "damper valves" as an inexpensive alternative to Emulators. Their offered for a 41 mm shock that is used on Harleys.. Which is the same size/design forks as our C-10's..

Did a little research: I think their a Chinese copy of the Race Tech's, but they are sold from the USA and are not shown as coming from China?
The spring in these is compatible {in force} to the Race Tech {Blue Spring} and the Dampers seem to be
a very similar design to the Gold valve Emulators. Even the wording/images of the instructions are the same as the Race Tech's..

NOTE:  Race tech sells their Gold Valves for about $150 and these are nearly identical.
The original Ebay posting had these in the $49 range {plus shipping}.
I found them for $39 {plus shipping}, so I decided to give them a try.

PS: Ignore the Harley part. They fir our C-10's perfectly.  :rotflmao:

Got these in and installed them.
Appear to be an almost exact copy of the Gold Valve Emulators for 1/3 the cost.

EZ to install, but a bit time consuming.
Worked great.

MAN OF BLUES:
wellllll

how do they work?
and did hey tell ya HOW MUCH OIL to use?

just jerking yer gherkin... as I know the oil thing just fire's yer azz up....

curious tho, may decide to slap a set into COGZilla this spring.. Instead of trying to install those Ninja ADVDS forks I've been storing for 14 years... :'( :'( ::) ;) ;)

I think they worked fine.

But, I ride the bike so seldom, hare to say how much.
Smoother... haven't tode r'nuff to say how good on the fast/hard bumps yet.

Steve sed they appear to be identical construction as the higher priced models.

They came with adjustment instructions that were almost word for word as the Race tech/Gold Valve Emulator instructions.
Sed to use the same amount of oil that RT did.
(will go back and check. Think it was 5.9" with forks compressed {same as the 86's}).  :rotflmao:
      I used 6"...

Ride safe, Ted
