4800 miles of Observations with 4 wheels
« on: January 13, 2012, 01:06:40 PM »
I've been away for the last 10 days or so, dug a hole at Winslow Cemetery to lay my mother to rest next to my dad. Drove the truck from CO as I don't do TSA well.

Prettiest state license plate: Maine
Ugliest State license plate: 'old' orange NY. VT a close second.
Best interstate: Kansas, I-70.
Worst Interstate surface: Colorado, I-225 (and US-36) through Denver and Boulder.
Worst downtown "spaghetti" road: I-70 through Kansas City.
Fastest drivers at rush hour: Hartford to Mass Pike (75+MPH, bumper to bumper, lotso curves/hills, six lanes wide).
Worst secondary road: OH.
Best (most scenic) secondary road: NY near NJ border. VT/NH a close second.
Best 'on the road' host: Sir Alex Gofayzen (NYC), and Lord Jack Gindra (St. Louis)
Prettiest downtown skyline: Indianapolis.
State(s) with most cops in the median shooting radar: Kansas and NY.
Worst drivers: None really.
Funniest 'surprise' call for an on the road drink/dinner: a call to MOB's VA cell phone.

Rick, again, please, accept my sincere condolences. Sorry we had to meet because of such unfortunate circumstances. I hope next time it will be a wished-for and a pleasure trip to North East for you….

Sorry for your loss of your mother.
Maine does have some nice plates. Florida has a few nice ones.
NY clearly the ugliest.
I95 through New Hampshire is smooth.
I90 Mass. west of Worcester is the roughest.
290 Worcester the deadliest.
495 Mass the fastest. 90+ cutting past the idiot left lane hogs(that never pull right).
Any where in New Hampshire the worst police presence.
Joel from Maine.
