« on: November 25, 2012, 04:33:28 AM »
On my way reaching Valerio to Milan form Rome.
Fast train, first competitor of our state railways.
Going at 300 Kmh (186 mph): WoW!  :o
Italo Treno at 300 kmh to Milan

A still picture (I couldn't focus it with my phone while filming...)

Stand out from the crowd: do not buy a BMW !!!

Thats unreal....just like riding Amtrack, only REALLY moving. My neice and nephew visit me and travel from Grand Junction Colorado to Salt Lake city.   Distance is 280 miles...time is 7 hours!

Confortable and safe, even at 300 km/h. Like in Switzerland and Austria, were the railroads are awsome. And maybe at June, we would have a drink al Rome, who knows?

Nice!  Wish we had those here in the states.

Our Amtrack trains had their speed limits raised to 80MPH or 85MPH a couple years ago.  I chased one along the Columbia river, east of the Gorge for a couple hours one day.  Took me almost an hour to catch it and pass it, doing triple digits, but I couldn't stay with it.  They get to go in a straight line, while I had to follow the winding / twisty highway.  Still, it was a very fun couple of hours, and helped me get home after a 3 day riding weekend a little quicker.

Don't think you could pace that one for long, at least not without a few flashing lights behind you.

My dad was a Conductor on Amtrack for many years.  It was interestign to see his reaction when riding the train from DC to NYC vs how his job was out west. He just shook his head an laughed.  Our system out West is very, very old..and slow.
