Wondering if im doing alot of long distance straight line riding if i can get a few more miles a gallon by disabling the traction control? Not sure if it causes a drag on the bike or only engages when it senses its needed in the curves!
Traction control will not affect mileage (MPG) in any way. It only does something when it is needed (which is very rare). It will kick in less for curves than for hard acceleration, which causes the rear wheel to break free (depending on conditions, of course). Generally it is a good safety feature that is best left on all the time.
What will affect your mileage more than anything else will be arerodynamics. To a much lesser extent- FEAM setting, tire pressures, weight, acceleration, shift patterns, etc.
