Title: (PA) Bucks County Covered Bridge Ride, 9-2-12
Post by: Walker18 on July 18, 2012, 09:07:17 PM
The Bucks County Covered Bridges Run will be Sept 2nd. We will be traveling on Bucks County back roads, crossing nine covered bridges, and starting off the ride with a stop at Bowman's Tower, a monument for General George Washington and his army. A mid-tour lunch break will be at an old country store / luncheon, followed by a run along the Delaware river towards our next destination. Ride sheets with each covered bridges history will be provided! So, please join us on a back roads journey, and a step back in history.

I would love to be on that ride as I lived in Levittown from 67-68 but Labor Day weekend would be a killer for me coming up and going back.  Went to Pennsbury Valley Elementary and Pennsbury HS (maybe that was Pennsbury Jr High at the time?).

Very close to where I grew up, and I graduated from Bishop Egan HS. Well, if you change your mind, you'll know where we'll be!

Last call! Looks like the weather will be in the low 80's by mid-day, adding a quick first stop at Bowman's Tower,
a commemorative monument to George Washington and his army.

Yeah pictures, we like pictures.

ps I mispelled copyright.  College was 35 yers ago :(

Thanks Jim it was a great day.  Does your COG story include the 2 dropped C-10's, the rain and the lost rider (me).  I am on record saying I don't like to go fast.  I have to live up to the reputation.  Luckily I had my Ipad this time so I got a direct route home.

All in all it was a good day.
