Post by: Beary on August 25, 2015, 01:53:33 PM
2010 abs with 19,000 miles. Man she is fast. Hard to get use to 10500 red line, I can't my mind around going past 5000 rpms. But I will work my way into it.

Have a great week all.

Welcome to forum, Harley guy got a conny!

I just joined too, and I'm glad to have company.  I came from a Harley Road King Classic.  The constant evolution of buying expensive parts for the road king wore me out...ahem and my finances.  I still have a soft spot and probably always will have for Harleys.  Theses Concours are awesome machines for the open road!  Anyway...welcome and happy trails!

Well, at least you didn't call the Connie "cute" like the Goldwing rider who just joined.  ;D

I didn't have any problem with the 10.5k redline but I am still having a bit of trouble with topping out second gear at 100mph.

Have fun!!!!

When I hit the rev limiter I saw 90.  How are you getting to 100?

Welcome Beary! That whole "going past 5000 rpm thing"... that's where the fun begins!  ;)

I have done it a few times. The first time I was dragging a guy on BMW HP and I was so amazed by how fast it got to redline that I checked the speedo without even thinking. Others times I have seen it under more "sensible" conditions.

Don't know why mine is different? Maybe because I ride mostly at 7,500 to 10,000 feet?

Welcome aboard. You'll get use to that red line.
You will probably never let a Harley pass you,I know I don't. Sorry one exception, the LEO's that have to ride them.  ::)
Enjoy the ride.
Pink you nailed it with that statement.  :rotflmao:

Thanks guys. I still have a 1999 Evo Softail to remind me of the old days.

Right the connie pulling on my wallet. All ready ordered a set of pull back brackets and searching for a set of knee tank protectors. I saw a set of brackets for lowering the pegs that I'm considering and what about a GPS mount. IS THERE NO END TO THE MADNESS?

Former Goldwing rider who can still read, btw.  :)  It was just funny reading in many forums and reviews how BIG the Connie is.  Shedding 250 lbs of bike, it seems downright little to me!

Welcome aboard!  You'll have a great time with the Connie.  Most fun I've ever had with pants on.
