To answer the original poster's question, yes, the factory demo bikes that they auction to the dealers do not come with the factory warranty. You can get the Kawasaki Good Times Protection Plan (GTPP) if you're willing to pay for it.
I found out when I made a deal on a 2012 "demo bike" with 250 miles on it. When I went to pick it up, the tag on it said "no warranty". I asked the dealer, and he said it was a factory auction and they didn't come with the warranty. I told him, no warranty, no deal, so he said they'd include a 36 month warranty. First they tried to pass off an aftermarket warranty, but I said no way, so they gave me the 36 month GTPP for no cost.
Buyer beware, indeed!
