Exited of I-20 at Vicksburg Ms and took a short ride through the park from the end of the video there is about 9 miles of park road to go.

Been there. Very moving experience. Did you take time to see the ironclad?

Vicksburg is on my bucket list of places to see.   I'm listening to Shelby Foote's first volume on the Civil War right now and they spoke the battles on the Mississippi.  Was that ironclad north or south?

Rode it on a motorcycle trip in 2010. Almost left the park immediately after watching the movie presentation before you go into the park, and wanting a refund. I'm a South Alabama raised Pro-Confederacy type guy. The movie was insulting to me, and really should be for the people that live in Vicksburg. To the victors go the spoils I guess... But I did go into the park and it was a fantastic ride.

I rode Shilo on the same trip. Very moving experience that everyone should experience.

Being close we have made several trips, stay at the Battlefield Inn right next door to the park, good place with a great restuarant and fun alounge.
