I finally gathered enough parts and money together to get my 2001 sonic blue back together and painted. I laid her down back in the fall avoiding an idiot< and road her with mismatched parts til the season was up. Now she is all painted, and I would like some feedback. I like the color, but I am not sure if it's me. Give me your honest opinions. Thanks
-
I don't know, I'm always up for something different. I think it looks good.
-
I don't know if you or not. But I know it is not me. Nice bright color for being seen but greens are not my taste.
-
Thanks guys. This is what I wanted. Keep 'em comin...
-
The black lowers make it look a bit more sophisticated than if it was all green. Kawasaki green is pretty full on by itself.
-
First, nice paint job! Your visibility has improved from the stock color, for sure! Possible endorsements from Mama Kaw or ROK in the future? 8)
-
I have always liked the Kawi green so I give it a big two thumbs up!
-
Love it!!! 8) Good visibility as well. Who says your bike has to look like grandpa's. If I had to paint mine I'd seriously consider the Eddie Lawson lookalike treatment.
-
I love it! You could trade me for my 99 barney purple :)
-
I too love it! Agree that the black tones it down.

Actually my parts bike was a '99 purple. I rode my bike for a few months with that and a sonic blue combo...

Don't those colors clash? :rotflmao:

I like it

Yup. Like it very much! In the end however, you gotta be true to yourself. If you don't like it, who gives a ^&@# what anyone else thinks? Paint it again to a color more to your taste.
-
It looks Great, it's not a Smurfcycle anymore.
-
I'm a Kwak green fan, so I think it looks neat.
I don't know you, so I have no idea if it fits you or not.
I could drive it, but don't think I will repaint my 09 C14 tomorrow.
-
i like it but it looks just plain green if that makes sense, maybe some pin strips or or just a touch of some other color here and there

I like it... Add a black pin stripe to the green and a matching green pin stripe to the black and you got it.

Thats it

That's funny. I'm getting ready to paint one same color. I already bought the paint. I'm going to paint the wheels dark smoke and some other items black.
-
Who says your bike has to look like grandpa's.
;D good answer!

Actually this is not kawasaki lime green metallic. It has a few coats of a lime green pearl base, a few more of a yellow metallic, then a couple coats of a green metallic. The bottoms were painted with a gloss dark charcoal. After all that it was cleared. My pic doesn't do it justice. In the sun the yellow is present. It's a cool color and I really like it. I'm just not sure if a Redneck ike me and a bike like this goes together. I will not repaint. If I decide I can't take this color, I will just sell it.

On the old board there was a posting with several pics that were photoshop edited with various colors. The two that I thought looked best were a darker yellow metallic and a pearl white. Both with darker bottoms. I don't recall which member had done all the edit work and posted the pics though.

I remember that. I actually used his lime green as my model. I was aiming for a Kawasaki green, but sort of went a little away from it. The guy who painted it usually does vintage bikes and Harleys, so he likes makin custom colors.

That looks REALLY sharp, Hotdog! I'm with the others that are Kawi-green affeccionate! I am also with the others that would do another black stripe...what I would do if it was mine is run an inch-and-a-half stripe of the same black as the lowers (flat black?) up the fairings to cover (camouflage) the fairing screws and continue the stripe on the tank and curve it down to the front of the seat....now THAT would be even more bad-a$$ than ever!

I like it, but then I like "loud" colors anyway.
Were I to be in need of repainting a major portion of my bike, Id paint it Nuclear Pumpkin, aka Pearl Blazing Orange from the 03 Z1000 and other orange Kaws that year.
That color is amazing, if you like orange.
By far my favorite, though my yellow VTX looked pretty darn cool too...

Keep the green that is sweet 8) If I were to paint mine it would be Kawi Green with yellow rims
-
I like it, the black does set it off. Had a bike painted green like that, grew on me.

If that is in fact the right orange, that pic doesnt do it justice!
It was used in 2003 (Z1000 ZX7)/2004 (ZX10 ZX6) like this:
This was its last pic with me as its owner. I miss that bike...
