2011 Silver Demo for sale.
« on: February 28, 2012, 09:15:23 AM »
Priced at $12,799 with just under 3,000 miles on it. I know the price can go down a ways. I believe it is still a new (untitled) bike. It had a GPS on it and aftermarket exhaust.
I am not really sure what I could get for my 2010 abs with 23,000 miles on it. Pretty much stock. I think around $10,000 or so.

If you could get them down to where you could ride out paying $2000 then I would say you got a good deal.

But I think that $10,000 on trade in might be a stretch.

I know $8,000 is the best trade in I'd get. Private sale closer to $10,000.

Untitled, 3,000 miles AND a non-factory exhaust..... very odd.

$4000 OTD (out the door).  In other word, you will be lucky if you can trade yours and get the new bike for $4000.

Gotcha Irule. I wasn't even thinking about trading it in to the seller. They want better deals than me.
Maxtog I think the owner of the shop was running this bike for a while. Not quite sure yet. I'll go see them Wednesday or Thursday.

One negotiating point on a "demo" if you choose to go this way. Most (all?) of the manufacturers start the factory warranty clock the day the bike went into "warranty" status.  So, even though the bike may have never been ridden, a 2010 coudl have been put in this status in late 09.  If so, you might have  a year left on the factory warranty. Timing is everythign on this deal. Have the contract drawn up and the price you lieke on paper...then ask. Threaten to blow the deal up over it and see if they'll drop another 500 bucks.

I don't think the warranty starts until the day the bike is registered or sold, how does the manufacturer know if and when the bike went into WARANTY status. if it's a demo it is not registered. My 09 was a left over, I got it November 5, 2010, the 3 year warranty is good until November 5, 2013.

Factory warranty always start the day the vehicle is titled and/or sold to a new owner other than authorized dealer.  I know this because I bought a leftover '08 Suzuki S83 last year with less than 1 mile on the clock from an outdoor power eqipment dealer in Indiana that bought it on dealer aucion when the orginal authorized dealer went out of business.  I got a Certificate of Origin, which means the motorcycle was never Titled, but Suzuki showed the sale transaction to the new owner, who is not an authorized motorcycle dealer, even though he sells ATVs and outdoor power equipment.  Therefore, warranty started when that sale took place, not when it was first Titled - by me.

I knew this before I bought the bike, and factored it into the pricing.  Caveat emptor.

I like to buy new bikes for the new bike warranty. I always have bought leftovers and Demos are the next best thing.
Two weeks ago I talked my wife in to getting me a Charger RT. I can't rush to fast into this.
My 2010 is only 13 months old. I don't plan on keeping bikes longer than 2 years, because of the insurance plan my company offers. Full Replacement on a total. Up to 2 years on a new bike. I want to always have that coverage.

Getting nicer looking.

I got my new 2011 for $12,800 before tax etc... last July.

$11,899 is better, $11K would be much better.

You know those 3000 miles were most likely some hard miles and not the normal break in...  That would be my only concern.  Of course some people subscribe to "drive it like you stole it" for break in anyways....

I never buy the extended warranty. I don't keep things long enough.
I think the miles were put on it, were from the owner.
I miss the easy clean color. My 08 always looked so clean. My 2010 not so pretty. lol
