Origin of the Silverdammit phrase
« on: May 04, 2012, 06:07:52 AM »
Could someone explain how that originated?  I did a quick search, but didn't see any obvious start the pseudo meme it has become.

Could it be that someone rides the vastly faster Silverdammit bike with ZX14 TBs? ;D

I have heard that the other slower colors are called Dammit, but only after being spanked by a Silverdammit bike, usually along these lines "I just got spanked by a Silverdammit bike dammit" >:( ;)  Most often heard from the owners of the Harley colored bikes 8)

Slunking down a sidewalk one snail looked at another snail and said hey bro what color is that shell, is it grey? The other snail yelled back to him "it's silverdammit"!

Ah, see, I didn't know that history (being a C-14 owner with no interest at all in the C-10).

I thought the phrase was due to the fact that Gen 1 C-14 "Neutron Silver" is not really silver- it is a light, baby blue and that irritated owners who said "it is silver, damnit!"
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc

I first heard the "it's silverdammit" in '94 from Steve Pronto. 8) He rode a gray Concours,I mean "silverdammit". I'm sure it was around before that.

Blue Connies, still the fastest color!
 :stirpot:

Although there has been some debate between the Sonic Blue owners and the Neptune Blue owners as to which is faster...

Can't speak to the ZG-14 Blue, though, they are in a different league.
