What's with Honda's obsession with re-using names for their vehicles?  The Odyssey and Pilot used to be the names of their ATVs.  It can get a little confusing when trying to search for info online.  I'm waiting for them to release a new line of generators called the Civic. . .

That new Honda will sell just as well the NTV700! (or whatever that is called.) That's actually not a bad bike. But the avatar, now that will be remembered...

First, the re-use of names.  It costs a bunch of money to copyright a name.  Lots of research and investigation have to be done to make sure that the name you want to use is not a chain of whore-houses in one of your major markets.  And of course, you have to make sure nobody already has the name copyrighted.  So if you have a perfectly good name, and you aren't using it any more, why not dust it off and re-use it?  (As for me, I think that the C14 is different enough from the Concours to rate a new name, so we are living that philosophy right here.).  Ford Ranger was a model of F series pickup first, and so was Explorer.  How many Chevy Malibu's have we had so far?

Now about the bike itself.  Honda is NOT trying to convert anyone riding a real motorcycle to their new Integra.  They're going for the people who really would rather have the ease and simplicity of a scooter, but are too vain or insecure to be seen riding a Vespa.   For that crowd, it will probably be a hit.
If you take yourself too seriously, nobody else will.  Humor is all around you, make it your quest to find all of it!

It is sure to strike fear into every Suzuki Burgman owner. Can you imagine the scene, The new Honda pulls up to the stop light next to a reeling Burgman rider. The Honda rider goes into a Clint Eastwoodish rant. You know...Go ahead ...make my day punk. Then one of them spills their groceries out onto the pavement. Conflict over.
Riding big bore in line fours and v-4 hondas and such since 1976. Lost count of the miles, but it is more than 500 thousand. Currently in the garage...1999 vfr800, keeper forever. 2006 klr 650, forest road thrasher, 2011 C-14 ICBM.

Bands have this same problem.  So the names get weirder and weirder.

Big scooters are the norm here in Italy, but it seems with this that Honda has answered a question no one was asking.

Here you have what is obviously a scooter - but without any of a scooters advantages of weather protection and a womans ability to ride with a skirt on.

Fail...

Not the first time they've swapped vehicle names between passenger vehicles and motor sports gear.
