Son's New Toy
« on: September 28, 2012, 07:50:39 AM »
Just got this for my 6 year old from a guy at work.  $100 and runs great.  Clutch sticks a little so this weekend I will be pulling it off and cleaning it up some.  As well I will be adding an extra set of pedals so he can reach them and still have his seat belt securely attached.  It has a 6.5 HP Tecumseh and is pretty quick even with daddy's fat 300 pound butt on it.

Now I also need to find him a used kid's dirt helmet to make sure he stays as safe as can be.  If anyone has one sitting around that they don't need and you want to give away or sell,  let me know

Well done! The sooner you get 'em driving/riding something the better divers they'll turn out to be as an adult.

The knobby front tires will dig in on sharp turns with exciting results. I'd recommend changing them to a turf type tire. Don't ask me how I know.  :)

I see a potential project for dad here (when the boy outgrows it, of course).

Go-kart + motorcycle engine = fun for dad  ;D
In the days of my youth, I was told what it means to be a man.

already thinking about that.  when he gets good at it, might have to go ahead and add the bike motor then.  we are also hoping to get him into competition carting.  at least daddy is.
