man cave...
« on: September 08, 2011, 09:27:22 PM »
Ok, first off thank God football season is off and running tonight, nice high scoring game!!

So I'm hanging out in the garage tonight and am now thinking doing a little "man cave" conversion action, winter is coming and the riding season will soon be hit and miss, at least here in the PNW...  :'(

I do like to hang out with my bikes even if I can't ride them in the crappy weather season, plus I have 2 teenage girls so it is nice to have a little peace of mind and me time...  ;)

So here's what I'm working with...

- I already have wireless, so check that for laptop action.
- I already have a tv in the garage but it is kinda small, would need to upgrade screen size.
- I already have that indoor short garage type carpet in my garage, so check to that too.
- I don't have a fridge in the garage, have to go inside to grab another cold one from time to time, need to get a mini fridge.
- I have an old office chair but maybe need a better chair or maybe a used CL couch?? (maybe someday I'll get real friends in addition to you online buddys...  ;) )
- I don't have a heater, so need to get that for winter action.

What else am I missing?
If you have a garage man cave please post up some pics of it for insperation!!  :chugbeer:

You'll enjoy it.

I put one of these in the living room but if i wasn't single it'd be in the garage.

58" TV mounted high with two polk audio studio monitors mounted a little higher than eye level for clarity, and a subbox in the corner.

A quad-4 pentium computer (for youtube, post-whoring, internet, Blue-ray, netflix etc) and a HD cable box BOTH  with an HDMI output driving a harmon-kardon receiver.

And more accessories and such on the system to mention.

RUN ALL CABLES THROUGH ATTIC!

One side of the man cave room:

Other side of room facing TV/speakers (note computer is hidden, the gay red thing is sound material top kill echo):

Its always a good day hauling big toys!

Computer we built (unreal 8 gig memory, nvideo graphics card, sweet motherboard, i5 quad 4):

Making the accoustics panels

Polks:

Since those horrid quality pics, I've been attending photography school and the man cave doubles as a studio (horrid pic again but testing a remote flash picked up on craigslist cheap!):

You'll need one of these to start it off right.

Nice tv Steve!

But I already have a room similar to this in the house equipt with a pool table too... What I'm wantng to do is just something a little more "rough" (well not too rough...  ;) ) out in the garage so that I can still hang with the bikes and enjoy the football games etc and a little privacy, nothing too elaborate, just something functional and comfy for me.  :)

So you wanna rough it? Like maybe only a 50" TV then?

Isn't Elton a Browns fan? He doesn't wear the star glasses when in the dawg pound but he sure can throw a bottle...  ;)

A least one window light source so you can come out in the winter to see your shadow or go back into the man cave for 6 more weeks.  Hope it's all you dreamed of :)

I'm tellin ya ZG, you had better get on the Bears bandwagon! Folks have been talking about the Falcons like they might be a contender this season and look at how the Bears mopped up Soldier Field with em yesterday. The score made it look WAY closer than it actually was.

#54 has some good hands!
