have you RED about ZG's new PASSION this fall/winter...
« on: September 29, 2013, 01:08:30 PM »

Hi guys & gals, well the rainy season has arrived, at least here in the PNW.  :'(

I figured I'd create this thread now for my fall/winter project.  ;)

As some of you know I've been hoarding a complete full 3rd set of ZG bodywork in my garage since last year, trying to decide on what color to have it painted...  :-\

Well I think I've finally came to a decision, I'm going to have it done in 2013 ZX14R PASSION RED.

Now before the rocks start flying on how red is overplayed, I for one have never really been a fan of red, in fact over 25+ years of dozens of cars, trucks, and bikes I think I've only had one that was red.

If you haven't seen this color in person you really need to, it's quite stunning IMO and really pops!  8)

So I guess here we go again, happy reading over the next couple months, get yer popcorn ready...

Last week I ordered up another Corbin smuggler trunk, so I'm guessing in about a month from now when it arrives things get moving...

Somebody call Johnson City and reserve the lobby space.
I'm thinking a large extremely white fluffy mohair type area rug should be acquired to park it on.

Begs the Question, what color wheels are you going with?
I mean the gold is so, been there done that last year, right?
Back to slow, boring, disgustingly dirty looking, black no doubt?

...or....do you dare to try something proven, yet still BOLD?
Something that only you ZG, could possibly keep clean. Something like....classic yellow.

...♪.you deserve a break today...♫

edit: Well OK, on second thought maybe you better go with black.

I saw one of those read ZX14R's this last weekend. It was right next to a green one. They both looked NICE! My son was drooling all over the green one.

But if you do this, and it take a few hours to change color, black, green or red, it will be like a woman going out on the town... what to wear... what to wear?

Sometimes things just work out nicely, I'm feeling the good Lord is on my side with this paint project.  :)

The shop "Artistic Auto Body" that does all my paint work put a team together to compete in the dragon boat races down on the Willamette river this past weekend for an event called "Row for the Cure" to raise money for a really great cause!

One thing they did over the past couple months was sell raffel tickets to raise money, then yesterday at the "row" they pulled the winning ticket...

Yep, guess who's ticket they pulled!  ;D

My ticket was pulled and I won a $500 complete inside/outside auto detailing!  8)

I spoke with them today and instead of getting one of my vehicles detailed inside & out I'm just gonna use the $500 credit towards the labor costs associated with this paint project!!  :)

Woohoo, this project just got a little cheaper!!  ;D :chugbeer:

It's a full monty deal GP, hand wax & buff paint, carpet shampoo, leather treatment, engine bay detail, wheel polish, etc.

I actually really should use it on my truck, I've had my truck for a dozen years and it's never had anything more than a couple car washes a year and maybe a vacuum once a year...  :-\
