mondo bullet light out put and draw?
« on: March 02, 2013, 03:46:27 PM »
Curious what actual output on the mondo lights are as well as the wattage draw when in use? Thinking of a pair for my old 92 klr650. I have a set of 35w lights on it now . Just looking to reduce power consumption. These bikes can't hardly charge their own battery much less run any accessories. Thanks for info

Why do you say that?  This bike has a plenty strong alternator and provides plenty of power.  I've run with two people with heated gear and never had a bit of problem.  Never had an issue with the battery except for connections coming loose.  Replaced the battery after three years for just because...  It was still running fine at the time.  Never put a battery tender on it in the winter and never had a starting issue.  Are you trying to power up a rail gun or something?  If so, inquiring minds want to know.

Have you had problems with the charging system?

KLR....nevermind. :-[   This is what happens when someone posts in the wrong board and someone else (me) glosses over the facts.  Although, facts have never been an impediment to me answering a post.

I have the lights on my c14 currently and they work great. I just want to know if anyone knows the output/draw of the lights before I put them on my KLR which is anemic to say the least electrically. Thanks again

You may want to update the subject line and add the KLR to it....

Cant speak for the Mondos, but I have a pair of Trail Techs on my '05 KLR, when combined with the Gerbings jacket and heated grips I have never had an issue.  They be bright as all get out, have 3 settings, low is nice when setting up camp, medium for conspicuity riding, and high for off road stuff.

According to the website the MM10s draw .8 amp each for a draw of 1.6 amps total current draw.
Power consumption is 19.2 watts.
Their website does not give output in lumens.

Thanks for the info Cholla. I could not find it on the website myself. That should be something my anemic klr can handle after I swap out the R&R as well

The power consumption isn't listed but current draw is. With a little math-amps x volts = watts.
