Danali DM1 Lights & painted mounts
« on: April 10, 2014, 08:26:02 AM »
I bought the DM1's for my old C10, but sold it before I installed them.

I looked at quite a few threads here and on the "other site" for ideas.  I was worried the fender mount would make the light bounce on our MN roads too much.  The under mirror mounts many use look like a woman's earrings, so a no go for me.   I tried a few easy mount locations with nothing giving me what I wanted.  I ended up making my own mounts from materials I had on hand.  I finally got them painted & installed yesterday.  Nothing fancy, but they work really well!

Please ignore my messy garage!

The last 2 pictures are not as impressive as the actual difference between on and off on the DM1's.  They make a very white light, and intense with the spot lenses in.  I saw the difference right away in helping light the road ahead of me, but that was my secondary intent.  Primary was to increase my visibility to others on the road.  Mission accomplished!

Quite content with my DM1s mounted on the fender.
Still experimenting with the lenses.

I changed out the picture of the bracket I made.  This time taken in the daylight so the color is more correct.
