Wow front brake change is easy
« on: April 23, 2016, 05:46:52 AM »
Had many concours and current '12 seemed to eat front pads early at 16,500 miles.  Bought ebc pads on amazon and changed both sides in 30 minutes total.  Easy peasy.  Bedded them in and stops at least as well as stock after my first ride.

Did you notice more of a 'hissing' sound when the brakes are applied with the EBCs?

I had well over 35k on one of my other concours front brakes.  The other one had Rotors replaced under warranty around 20k so I got new pads then but only half worn.

did you take the time to completely clean all the grime and gunk from the pistons and assembly before pushing the pistons in? big mistake if not...
this is an easy bike for front brakes tho, but with any brake service, there should be meticulous cleaning involved, not just popping in new pads.

ride safe,

When I put EBC's on my 2012 they hissed really loud. The hissing does decrease but is always there.
