Anyone using the Road Smart 2's?
« on: September 06, 2019, 10:49:18 AM »
I see Rocky Mountain has them is stock size for 192 a pair. Thinking of giving them a try. I have the 3's on now. 5,000 miles and almost to the wear bars rear and I was trying to go easy on them! But as the best I have gotten out of 5 rear tires is 5000 I think I will stick the with a lower priced tire. Anyone here using them? Thanks

Mine were just delivered. Ordered thru Cycle gear for $186. Took about 1 week to receive them.
NOTE: With my order I requested "newest available Mfg. date".
I received tires manufactured on 3/19 and 5/19.
(The ones on the shelf at the Cycle Gear store were 7 1/2 years old)  :o

Another advantage with Cycle Gear purchase is: they will mount the tires for $25 ea.

There is a discussion about them on the other Forum, which is why I opted to buy.

Good value. I've got a new set, nephew has new set, son has a new rear from Dennis Kirk.
The price has been creeping up lately. Now $114.88/124.88 + $5 each tire.
We all like them.

I just pulled up Rocky Mountain, and Bikebandit to check you numbers as they seemed high.

Rocky Mountain was $114, and $80
Bikebandit has them for $96/rear in 190/50-17 and $67/front in 120/70-17....
Revzilla, Cycle Gear, Dennis Kirk are the same as BB...

At that price, I may order another set.

Is it possible it is old stock? When did they quit making the first generation?

When I ordered mine I attached a note requesting latest production.
Front tire was 3/19 and rear was 6/19..

I just spooned on a pair,  Price was really good but haven't gone riding yet as my foot had surgery.  They look right so we shall see if they are the way to go.
