Newb from NC
« on: August 03, 2014, 08:58:18 PM »
Enjoying the site y'all! Just got my new to me 2006 C10 Connie last Saturday and have nothing but good  things to say about this bike. I traded a 1997 Suzuki Bandit 1200S title for title on this bike, it has 76000 miles and runs like a sewing machine.
So far I have cleaned the carbs, cut the front springs four inches and added four inch spacers, installed the handlebar risers I found in the fairing pocket, cleaned it up real nice and have been riding the snot out of it.
Future plans include a Corbin or Russell seat, Delkevic slip-ons, Holeshot jet kit and timing advancer, ZZR1200 shock, crash bars, extra lighting front and rear, top case, 17" wheels, cruise control, and RIDE THE SNOT OUT OF IT! You seeing a pattern here?
I live in Monroe NC, just southeast of Charlotte. Hope we have some local guys on the forum I can meet up and ride with, no one I hang out with that has a bike won't ride with me because I go too far! LOL! ;D
 Cheers!
        Chris

Thanks tweeter. Unfortunately I don't need any arm twisting to spend money on a motorcycle, I had just spent $1000 on the Bandit three weeks before I traded it

The Bandit was a fun bike, but the concours fits my needs a whole lot better, I usually do 400 to 500 miles on my days off if the weather holds out with one of my kids on the bsck almost everytime I ride.
Columbia is not far at all, usually in that area or around Camden once a month.

I remember seeing that bike on CL a time or two.  Looks like a fun ride, but I'd need some carrying capacity.

Welcome aboard.

You mentioned a jet kit. Before you go off and do that, do a little reading here.

I've checked him out already, but Dale at holeshot has never steered me wrong either.
