Finally able to join the crowd...
« on: August 12, 2018, 08:12:15 AM »
Hi, my name is Dan. I live in central Minnesota. I just bought a 2001 Concours 1000 yesterday. I've wanted one for years. I have big plans for it. I can already see I'm going to have to modify it a bit to fit me. I'm looking forward to getting the answers to the questions I'm sure to have from this forum and it's members.

Thank you for the welcomes.

I rode the bike an hour and a half to get home and my neck is quite sore from it. The reach to the bars forced me to hold my head at angle I'm not used to and there was some buffeting that bounced my head around too.

So I'm thinking some bar risers are needed right away. Also a different windscreen, right now I'm liking what I read about the adjustable one from MadStad.

You can also change to regular bars of your choice and use another type of riser, but this is the easiest/cheapest way to raise the bars.

Windshields get a bit more complicated as everyone has their own preference.
