ZRX1200R -V- Connie
« on: November 20, 2013, 03:04:19 AM »
So, I own both.................
09 Connie with K/N and slip on 2 Brothers pipe.

03 Rex in pretty blue, Had it Dyno'd at 167 hp,  K/N, fully muzzy pipe, block of plates, rear sprocket down one from stock.

Head to head, Rex stays with the connie (rex hard to keep front wheel down) 1-2-3 gears both neck and neck then the connie
begins to pull away strong.
At 110 the Connie showed its strength and pulled away......
Not bad though, an 03 Kawasaki staying quite well with the 09....

I prefer to ride the 09 more, but get more looks on the 03 and get asked a lot "what year is that, 80 something???" he he
Dont take my LOW post count as being a new Connie owner, I have been with the "other site" before it imploded........

167 hp? Must be more done than just full Muzzy+ K&N. ;)

I have the same setup (ZRX + Connie) and can only agree. The Rex gets more attension but I prefer to ride my 2013 C14. Maybe its the newness of the C14. (only had it for 2 month, My 1998 Rex been around for 12 years)
Great combination, they complete each other quite well.
My ass-dyno tells me that the Rex is faster, but that can be psychological (Rex= Muzzy SS Megaphone and C14 =OEM potato canon) Loud=fast  :D

I've got an 01 with SS Muzzy, and pods and a Green 03, slip on and a 2012 C-14, and either REX feels faster up until 5 grand in any gear and then the turbine like power of the Connie takes command.

I agree  with Cuda - you're probably only getting about 125 HP with the full exhaust.  You'd need a 1224 kit to get close to 160

Chage Rx's gearing back to stock and it would out pull the Connie.

Yeah, the rex ain't making 167 unless it's been seriously heated over internally.  Probably closer to 127 hp. At 167 hp, it would KILL the c-14, which is putting down around 135 hp, but is heavier than the zrx.

I've personally seen a zzr1200 eat c-14's repeatedly on roll ons. The zzr was stock, too.

I've run roll-ons with my 1109 c-10 against a c-10 fitted with a zrx12 engine, and they ran neck and neck. With the lighter rider on my bike, it handily outran the zrx12 equipped bike.  Steve
