I have several magnets mounted below the bike.  One didn't seem to be enough for me to trip the lights.
You need a custom license plate frame to go with all those magnets....

I wonder if those things really work......like deer whistles.
Hey Mike,

Here in Wisconsin you can leave a stoplight on red after waiting 90(?) seconds for the light to change.  But I paid $10 for one Green Light Trigger that turned out to be just a small 1/4x1" magnet.  Underwhelming.  Zip-tied to centerstand. Not much difference IMHO.

In Jim's defense, how could one refuse those eyes and pouty lips?

I had one of those magnets and it never would trip a light.  Worthless in my opinion.

I don't know if the ones they sell for traffic lights are powerful enough.
A 1X2X1/8" neodymium magnet does work. Just watch your fingers when you slap it on the frame, they are very strong. It creates a magnetic field equal to all the iron you have in your car so the sensor will detect the bike. If you have an old VCR, you can find one under the main drive motor. It should be large enough.

So could that create a new problem, like sucking nails and manhole covers up to the bottom of your bike?

Well, sucking the nails up before they reach your back tire would be a good thing.  Manhole covers, not so much...

You can buy larger ones that would pick up pieces of ferrous material as you drive but they are much more expensive than your normal iron type magnets. The biggest hazard with the large ones is loss of digits, and I don't mean the numeral type.
I was just thinking how they would be helpful in trapping rust in the fuel system. If you had a petcock with a bowl on the bottom you could trap not only water but rust as well.
