Seth Laam Custom Seat
« on: August 13, 2012, 08:36:28 PM »
I recently sold my other custom seat to a forum member in preparation for buying a Russell in the fall. (They are not inexpensive so I needed the money and the build date was a ways off)  The other seat worked well for me but I wanted a Russell.  I highly under estimated my wife's inability to ride on the stock seat after having a custom seat.  I heard about Seth and gave him a call, immediately I knew this would be a solution to my dilemma.  Within three weeks from our call I had a new custom seat and my wife is happy again.  We know what that means.  The seat is very nice and you will not find a better company with regards to customer service.  Communication was outstanding and he had my seat for less than 48 hours.  Below is his facebook and company page, I highly recommend his work.

That's a nice looking seat! So he reworked your stock seat right? What did that cost as pictured?

Looks awesome! It's got me thinking. My stock seat with spencer "supracore" mode I feel is too soft. Russel seat too high so I have been thinking about a Corbin. I have a Corbin on my DR650 and love it. Hard but molds to your shape seems to be best for long distance for me. How firm is this seat? Did it change the height?

Just had a nice conversation with Seth. I like what he had to say and he told me about an exchange program where he builds the seat on one of his C14 seat pans, ships it to me and I return my seat in the same box. No down time for the bike. So I pulled the trigger. Now all I have to do is wait.

I went with front only leather. $274 shipping included as a special this month. No extra charge for the exchange.

Agreed! $220 more to do the foam for the passenger pillion. I was tempted to get the whole thing but the only thing I ever put on the back is my Rapid Transit T-bag.

The exchange service is what eventually sold me. I don't do anything until they ship. Then I just put the old seat in the same box and packing and off it goes.

Not sure what you mean. Seth told me he had about 10 C14 seats. He takes one, does his thing and sends it to me, I send back my seat and the deal is done. No extraneous hardware that I'm aware of.

Latches and brackets on the seat bottom. Not having to swap is cool. It is agood looking seat. We'll need a ride report and pics.

Your seat looks great. Mine should be there Friday and I can't wait to try it. Seth seems like a great person to deal with and so far excellent customer service.

Yup, I want some ride reports before I decide.  Yes, I know seat comfort is subjective, but I still want the reports ;D
