Im back in the groove
« on: July 03, 2014, 12:08:58 AM »
picked up a new leftover 12 in arabian red. traded in my suzuki 1250fa, after spending  11 years and  135k miles on my  2001  then 2 years on the FA this thing is awesome.
after doing all I could do (bars ,seat windshield to the 1250) and riding it for 2 years it finally beat me to death enough over the 10 days I spent going to the national in johnson city to convince me to replace it with something that I can be comfortable with on the road.
the 1250 is a good day or weekend bike but its nothing like this for a real touring rig that hauls ass and handles really well to boot.
its a honking big bike  feels bigger than my I remember the 01 feeling.   took a few hours to get the big bike reflexes going again but I didnt drop this one 2 hours after I rolled out of the dealership this time.

working on getting the suspension set up for me. close, but needs a little more tweaking im thinking.
now I just gotta get it out and ride it for a few thousand miles to see if the seat, shield and bars are gonna suit me. so far (600 miles) its liveable.

Congrats.   Nice Rootbeer color isn't it.
I'd be interested in what you do to the suspension.

nope, its not actually root beer its arabian red,  I actually thought I had bought a brown bike till I rolled it out in the sunlight.   looks gorgeous deep red purplish  in the sun 8),  looks brown in the shade :-\

one pic is at winsdor ruins north of Natchez ms.  the other is just sitting in the sun beside my rv, which I am going to trade for a toy hauler so I can take it with me out on long term construction projects.

the pics are just cellphone stuff, if I haul out the good camera they would be better, but im lazy and the little moto g does a decent snapshot.
