Title: What do you think is the best looking bike ever?

OK, so what is the consensus here? What is the most beautiful (or least ugly) motorcycle ever?

Separate categories for production bikes and concept bikes. Please keep it to street/highway/touring bikes. I like dual sports too, but their styling
tends toward gnarly, and gnarly leads towards macho, and then things just get ugly with measuring devices etc.

I love my Gen II C14, but the looks aren't all that great to me, Gen I was much better looking.
I actually like the looks of the FJR and the ST1300 better than either of the C14s. (some of you are thinking I'm :nuts: :loco:)
So which bikes do you find most aesthetically pleasing to the eye? (please totally disregard any other aspect, like power and handling)
Post photos if possible preferably in a color that you think makes it look best (here come the fastest color posts, I can feel it).

In fact I bought one. (The one above isn't mine, mine was naked - no fairing - but otherwise identical...)

You guys may have forgotten, I was asking about the least ugly bike or best looking bike. Not which bikes are/were your favorites.
I had a Husky 250, and I loved it until I started loving my CZ400, but looks? fugetaboutit .U G L Y with a capital UGLY. Even the air cleaner
can was ugly..looked like backpacking aluminum cook pot with a hole in it.
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I wasn't starting a thread to try and prove it. :P

So, once again, totally disregarding handling, value, power, affection, and fun factors,.. which do you think are the BEST LOOKING motorcycles ever made?

2nd to that, the Honda SuperMagna (in dark blue) from 1987 is a bike that'll stay in my heart. I was living in Argentina in 1995, finishing engineering at university, and a friend of a friend of a friend just imported a VF700C from the US of A, 1985 model. I had it for 3 years and had a blast with it, but it was ugly. Years later I saw the SuperMagna in a magazine and promised myself I'll had one one day. Not yet, though :'(

This is still my all-time favorite. The 73-74 Elsinore's. I had just started racing the 125 class when they came on the scene. Everyone just drooled all over them. I left an XR-75 for a KX-125. Simplistic, but high-tech (for the time), an exquisite sound (it hurt your ears but sounded so awesome), the smell of Bel-Ray mixed in the fuel, watching it spit from the exhaust and blow on your hand - pure heaven on earth. There is still nothing like the sound of a 250cc 2-stroke screaming on a track or winding out across a field. Yeah, some people find that annoying now - not me.

The V-Max is second on my list. I saw one at Americade years ago (early 90s) that was completely chromed out including the frame and bottle of NOX. Red and blue fiting everywhere. Supercharger (not tubo) hanging out and off the side. It had a slightly stretched rear end. It also had NJ tags the said: "IL-WIN". Impressive. The pic attached isn't it, just kind of similar.

I remember playing around with a V-Max thinking the V-Max was faster. It was not. I remember changing brake pads on it. No tools needed. Just push, install and pump it up. It took less then a minute.

April saw over 5000 miles on this machine, on road and off. This weekend I used it for our Adventure Camp, starting tomorrow I am using it for our Advanced Street Skills 5 day class for the Military Mentor Training Program we do for the US Army Special Forces.

My GS is purpose built, with sturdy, clean lines meant to used in all situations for real world use. The lines are appealing, the color is appealing, and all additions deliver function, not flash, even the stickers have purpose-support the industry products that provide reliable bits of kit. Only (roughly) 10,000 miles this years (3,000 off road), and she still looks hot!!

However this thread was supposed to be about beauty (aka best looking), not function. No matter the great adventures delivered, the performance in the twisties, the performance on the single track, etc etc, your GS is always going to look like an unmade bed in a crack house. Admittedly minus the urine stains, but all those stickers are a great way to simulate same. :P

Bart is on his way over with his mother to kick yer a$$!! Having never slept (or seen) an unmade bed in a crack house I will just assume it isn't the best looking bed ever? Not sure how there is a comparison of any sort, but? FWIW, I paid for my bike from earnings on the range training new riders, I continue my build as funds become available. I also peeled a lot of the older stickers off today, looked at them closely and realized I was no longer running many of the products for one reason or the other.

My comment was more about my finances ( :( ) than yours. My DR also looks like an unmade bed. It would be from some drug house where the drug of choice is cheaper than crack. I've got some stickers saved up, I just haven't used any yet.

Major build is done, new Rad hubs and Excell rims installed, went with an "18 in the back wrapped with a Dunlop 908. Sick bike that is sexy as hell, it likes getting dirty ;) Cell phone pics don't do her justice, I'll shoot some after the Touratech Rally this week.

I can sort of get the idea of beauty being what is seen in the elegance of function but this reminds me of an aviation saying: "Helicopters can't fly, they are just so ugly that the ground repels them."

None taken, I reckon part of the beauty is the labor of taking a good platform and making it travel worthy in all conditions. Not many bikes have that :) Beyond that? I find the lines attractive and love the color scheme.

FWIW, my bike is the best looking in more places than most (not just on the pavement), be it mud, dirt, sand, gravel, pavement, or track, it just does it all 8)
