This is the ticket for those of you who can't take the time and ride all the way to the Rally this year. Fly to Portland rent yourself a Connie and ride on over with me and ZG. We'll get to see just how fast that green paint really is.  ;D

2 Years ago, we rented a bike near the National in Vermont.
Was shocked by the price, so I Called about renting the bike and was suprised that the Renter was willing to negotiate on the rental fee. Saved me quite a few $$..

So, I suggest you "do" talk to the Renter before you say heck no!

Ride safe, Ted

Having never rented a bike I have no idea what industry standard is or if these prices are inline or not. I do know that they are not inline with my wallet.
Thank God for good men willing to do extreme violence.

Being that I live in the Portland area I just called this rental place and spoke to the owner for almost an hour, he seems like a good dude. I explained to him about the potential east coast folks wanting to rent for the rally this summer and he said he'd love to be able to help, sounds like he'll have at least 4 C14's available to rent.

I just emailed him the link to this thread so hopefully he will chime in to introduce himself and answer any questions.

In talking to him it sounds like his son did to try and get the word out.

+1 on all of the above.

I've rented from Eagle Riders a few times. The last time was in 2009 and I rented an ST 1300 in Manchester NH. I'm pretty sure it was $140/day. And yes I think they ran the credit card for $3000. That doesn't mean they put $3000 on the card, only that they needed to know your card was good for it. I've also rented Harley's in Hawaii a couple of times and I think it was the same deal. Four years later and a new $15,000 bike, $200/day doesn't seem completely out of line. Lots of risk and liability on their part. But like connie_rider said, maybe they will negotiate.

Here is another option for those who may be interested in exploring some of the dusty stuff ;)  FWIW, Pete has been known to deliver.

I recently spoke with a dealer who was toying with the idea of renting adventure bikes...at the time, he was thinking of $450 per day for a fully loaded 1000cc machine...

That is rather steep.

:yikes: $450 is twice any thing I have seen. Makes http://www.madbullmotorental.com/ look pretty good.
