If you have not ridden here it beats the crowds on Tail of the Dragon.

And this is why I can't get 3000 miles on a rear tire.  :'(

Looks like a fun road, gonna have to look for that one in June. Thanks for sharing.

How do you not get any wind noise with your camera? What kind of camera is it?

I rode it on Labor day weekend, in the rain, I hope it will be dry for the National next year as it is a great stretch of road.  I rode the Snake after riding the Back of the Dragon the same day, in the rain  LOL  damn rain, takes some of the fun out of it.

Great video, I like the changing of the leaves, looks beautiful.

I didn't watch the whole video yet but like what I saw. What is the speed limit and how closely is it policed by the local LEO's?

I live about 20 minutes from there. They make a mean fried bologna sandwich at the store at the crossroads in Shady Valley.

Is the whole sandwich fried or just the bologna?

I'm there a few times a year.  Great ride, especially on week days when the squids, lamers, Hardley-Ablesons others aren't riding it   ;D

.
I wonder if they fill the same way about 200 COGgers,,, riding it when they squids, lamers, Hardley-Ablesons are riding it?

Nahhh, I don't really care!!!!

Ok, e'nuff discussion.... Let's do it!!!

(Hmmm,,,mmmmmmmm,,,,,,,,,,,, I can already taste them Fried Bologna sandwiches!)

The camera is just the iPhone 5 mounted horizontally in a ram mount. I guess the wind noise is minimal due to the windshield.

As far as the speed limit I'm not really sure.  We ride it as fast as we can, the road dictates the speed more than any signage. I have only ridden this route on weekdays and have not seen any cops.   You will see the local sherif going thru Mountain City. Maybe someone that is from the area can shed more light on the LEO.   It is a pretty popular ride and the condition of the road is pretty nice.

I'm not giving up my tinted windscreen. Guess I will have to drown out the wind noise with more freedom rock.

My friend from VA and I rail the 421 Snake, she lives not too far from there in Marion, VA. Although we were staging a ride from Gatlinburg in this pic.

Friend of mine asked I use my photography panning skillz to shoot his pic running the Snake

Of course cagers sometimes get in our way around the Snake

Just the bologna with a notch cut to reduce the curvature. ;)
