Wrenching session
« on: May 16, 2011, 09:06:42 PM »
MAY 30, 2011: Tom's Summer Wrenching Session HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST. WILL RE-SCHEDULE LATER.For those of you wanting to learn how to do those basic maintenance chores or to get them out of the way prior to your trip to National and have fun with fellow COGgers while doing it, join Tom Sills who is volunteering to host a summer technical and wrenching session at his home in Rome, GA on Saturday, June 11, from 9 AM to 4 PM.  This session is limited to doing light work such as that normally done for periodic maintenance, i.e., checking levels and pressures, changing fluids, replacing brake pads, rebuilding brake calipers, synchronizing carbs, etc.  A bike lift is not available (contributions will be accepted towards getting one next year, however  ;)).  If you want to do a valve adjust, you need to check with Tom ASAP.  Please bring your own tools, parts, and fluids.  If you want, call the local Kawasaki dealer (706/235-3454) or the local Advance Auto dealer (706/232-7779) to order and pay for supplies and let Tom know so he can pick them up for you before the event.

Equipment available includes the following:

Air compressor
Morgan carbtune
MityVac
HF Tire Changer
Static wheel balancer
Torque Wrench
Steering head wrench
Lug socket for front and back wheels
Also bring any fluids or parts you think you might need or check with Tom on them being available.

Drinks and coffee will be available.  Lunch is take-out BBQ, so bring cash for your eats.
